RINGERS REST – WONDECLA
MONDAY, 19. OCTOBER 2020
84 km + 2539 vm

The first 35 km is a fun and fast, flat purpose built gravel bike path named the Rail Trail.

Expect to ride in groups through this section. Upon arrival at Atherton we’ll pass through the Atherton MTB Club Skills park and a short single track section known as the Link Trail.

Then the climb of Mt Baldy begins. You will enter the mountain bike park proper taking on the hand dug single track before climbing the iconic Alpe d Huez of mountain biking track 12 ’Stairway to Heaven’.

You will then exit the MTB park and climb a further few k’s up a well groomed gravel road and then short decent before a sharp turn into the Walsh River Track that has a number of pitchy rocky up and downs.

That’s the point when you’ll get your first glimpse of the outback with a few kilometres along a dry and dusty Power- line Track before turning onto wide dirt roads for the last few kilometres finishing at the Wondecla Sporting Grounds, home for the next two nights.
