The Croc Outback Cycling Tour

Kuranda is the starting place of the Croc Cycling Tour, a former Aboriginal reservation for the native peoples, which has become a popular holiday destination. The finish is on the Pacific Ocean in Port Douglas at 4 Mile Beach.
In the 7 days, the participants cross numerous rainforests, streams, drive on ancient gold-digging trails and several stages through the Australian outback and ride through numerous plantations.

  • Flights: there are different airlines from country to country that fly to Cairns. If you want to fly to Cairns quickly, Singapore Airline comes in handy as they fly non-stop from Singapore directly to Cairns.
  • Accomodation in Cairns before the event. We have two partner hotels (Mantra Groupe see website https://www.croctrophy.com/accommodation-pre-event/ines one for hotel rooms, the other for apartments.
  • Transfer by shuttle buses am 5.Nov. to Kuranda (25 km from Cairns) departing from Mantra Hotels.
  • Shuttle bus transfers am 11.Nov. from Port Douglas – Cairns to the Mantra Hotels.
  • Luggage transport: The luggage is transported daily with our trucks
  • Overnight-stays are either in a tent, which you can rent from the organization (will be set up and taken down) or you can book a hotel service (including shuttle service from the finish to the hotel and back)
  • We stay 3 x 2 days at the same place, so there is less stress for participants, companions and staff.
  • Free mechanic service only spare parts have to be paid for.
  • Shopping: Cairns is a city of 150,000 inhabitants, with many shopping centers, camping shops and numerous cycling shops. So you don’t have to worry if you forgot something.
  • A tip from us: take as little clothing as possible with you, you save weight. If you don’t have enough with you, you can get everything in Cairns
  • Camping equipment: you can get a sleeping bag for little money in the supermarket
  • Food in the camp:   breakfast / lunch / dinner.
  • Refreshments during the rides
  • Sanitary facilities: There are toilets and showers with hot water on site at the camps
