HOW TIME FLIES!

More than two years ago, the 25th and so far last edition of the Crocodile Trophy finished at the Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas. But in eleven months it will be that time again. The 26th edition will start in Smithfield on November 4th.

“The race is a great and unforgettable experience. We never know what to expect, but in the end we were happy that we made it, ”said 2019 overall winner Alan Gordon at the finish line in the tropical north of Queensland.

Just under an hour’s drive from the Eternal Beach, where the race traditionally ends, the 2022 Trophy will open with a prologue on the Smithfield World Championship course. The first climbing test already awaits day two on the Atherton Plateau and via the Ringers Rest magical bush camp to Wondecla in the first half of the eight-day stage race. The fifth day of the race then passes through Herberton Range National Park. We then continue west on the dry roads of the outback of the Mareeba region to the Skybury Coffee Plantation, where two nights end with freshly brewed coffee.

Via Skybury and Northcote Station we go past huge sugar cane plantations to Hartley Creek Adventure, where our eponymous racing mascots can be seen feeding. But don’t worry, there aren’t any free-range crocodiles there.

The grand finale then again forms the joint arrival of all finishers at Four Mile Beach in the holiday paradise of Port Douglas.
